State Rep. Jaime Greene (R-Richmond) was honored by the County Road Association of Michigan on Wednesday with a Distinguished Service Highway Industry Award. The award recognizes individuals who have uniquely dedicated their time, talent, and service to the advancement of the local road system.
“Quality policy work requires coordination between lawmakers and the industry experts that best know the needs of the groups they represent,” Greene said. “I view this award as not just a recognition of my work as a legislator, but also a testament to the strong relationship I am privileged to have with policy advocates and leaders like those at the County Road Association. I’m very grateful to have been picked for this special honor.”
Michigan’s 83 members that comprise the County Road Association have been steadfast advocates for safe and efficient county transportation infrastructure for years. Michigan has the fourth-largest local road system in the nation. Additionally, the state’s county road agencies manage approximately 75% of all roads in the state, making their political advocacy some of the most important policy work in Lansing.
Their award for Rep. Greene commends her for “using her knowledge, time and passion to help advance Michigan’s county road and bridge system.”
