In response to a resolution introduced by House Democrats condemning Rep. Josh Schriver’s remarks as “racist” regarding the “Great Replacement Theory” and “White genocide,” Schriver strongly defended his position, asserting that concerns over illegal immigration and demographic change are widely held by mainstream conservatives and are far from fringe or racist.
Schriver explained that unchecked mass migration, particularly involving illegal entry, undermines national sovereignty and sends a dangerous message that the nation is no longer governed by law and order. He pointed to the Biden Administration’s policies, which allowed more than 10 million people to enter the U.S. illegally, straining resources and communities. Schriver also emphasized that sanctuary cities have exacerbated the issue, leading to a breakdown of law and order. He reiterated his support for restoring accountability and protecting the integrity of the nation’s borders through stronger enforcement of existing laws.
“This isn’t just a policy failure; it’s a breakdown of national sovereignty and respect for federal law,” Schriver stated. “What we’re focused on is protecting our communities and upholding our customs.”
Schriver highlighted that figures like Matt Walsh, Michael Knowles, Jack Posobiec, Tucker Carlson, and J.D. Vance have expressed similar to the exact same concerns about the political motivations behind mass immigration and its impact on American communities. “The younger generation of conservatives has embraced these views, and they are becoming a regular part of the national conversation,” Schriver said.
Schriver further stated that this debate is nothing new in the American political tradition. “Our Founders, like John Jay and Alexander Hamilton, made their positions on immigration clear in the Federalist Papers. Adams, Washington—they made their position very clear. It is the liberals who have strayed from the founders and then slander us as Anti-American. We should be able to talk about who we are as a nation and as a community, out of a love for one another. This is about the future of our people and our shared heritage. These aren’t issues for division; they’re issues of national preservation and mutual respect.”
Schriver also addressed the double standard in how these issues are treated by the media and his political opponents. “The only reason the Democrats are making a fuss about this is because I don’t celebrate it. When the SPLC, The Atlantic, CNN, or other left-wing outlets talk about these issues and acknowledge the data, it’s totally fine because they celebrate that it’s happening. But when conservatives like myself raise concerns or question the implications of these changes, suddenly it’s labeled as ‘extreme’ or ‘racist.’ This is not about hatred; it’s about a real concern for the future of this country and the values that have made us who we are.”
Schriver concluded by emphasizing that the debate surrounding immigration should not be silenced or mischaracterized by political opponents. “The millions of Americans who are speaking up about these issues are not bigots—they are patriots who love their country and want to protect it,” Schriver said. “It’s time for an honest conversation about immigration and the future of this nation.”
