Pavlov resolution establishes Recovery Day in Michigan
RELEASE|September 23, 2025

LANSING, Mich. — State Rep. Joseph Pavlov is leading an effort to recognize and support long term recovery from addiction in Michigan. House Resolution 167, which he introduced and the House adopted this week, declares September 13 as Recovery Day in Michigan.
The resolution highlights the reality that more than six hundred thousand Michigan residents struggle with substance use disorders each year while only a fraction receive treatment. It emphasizes the critical role of recovery community organizations which provide long term support that makes sustained recovery possible at a fraction of the cost of traditional treatment programs.
“Recovery is more than a moment. It is a journey,” Pavlov said. “Too many Michiganders struggle in silence. By dedicating a day to honor recovery we lift up the voices of those who have persevered, recognize the organizations that walk with them, and reaffirm our commitment as a state to support every individual seeking a better tomorrow.”
As part of the resolution the Michigan House extended special appreciation to community partners and transmitted a copy of the resolution to the Blue Water Recovery and Outreach Center.
