State Rep. Jay DeBoyer has been elected chair of the Michigan House Conservative Caucus by fellow caucus colleagues.

DeBoyer has championed several key issues in his first term in the House, including tax cuts for hardworking Michiganders, less burdensome regulation for small business owners, greater transparency in government as it works on behalf of the people and with taxpayer dollars, responsible and efficient spending methods, and commonsense elections reforms.

“I’m honored to have been chosen for this position and will continue to bring a strong, conservative influence to policy-making,” DeBoyer said. “We have seen the profound impact that reckless government policies over the past few years can have on everyday people, from COVID-19 shutdowns to bloated state budgets that have spent billions of taxpayer dollars on radical agenda items and pet projects for choice areas. I will continue fighting for responsible, effective governing in Lansing so our state, communities and families can enjoy prosperity.”

DeBoyer represents the 63rd House District, which encompasses southern St. Clair County and northern Macomb County. In addition to Rep. DeBoyer being elected Chairman, state Rep. Rachelle Smit, of the 43rd District, was elected Vice Chairwoman and state Rep. Mike Hoadley, of the 99th District, was elected Secretary.
