State Rep. Ron Robinson (R-Utica) today commented on how the Senate Democrats adjourned without reaching a deal on the state’s K-12 education budget, leaving Michigan students, parents, and schools without the certainty they deserve.
“The House has been working around the clock to deliver a responsible education budget before the July 1 deadline,” said Robinson. “But instead of staying at the table to finish the job, the Senate packed up and went home.
“It’s deeply disappointing and frankly unacceptable. Michigan families are counting on us to fund their schools, support teachers, and make classrooms safer and stronger. Walking away without a deal leaves school districts in a state of uncertainty and shows a lack of leadership.”
The House education budget proposal includes direct support for classroom instruction, expanded school safety initiatives, and increased per-pupil funding for every Michigan student.
“Our plan prioritizes student success, invests in classroom learning, strengthens school safety, and puts parents and local schools first,” said Robinson “We owe it to Michigan families to pass a smart, balanced, and timely education budget.”
